SMOC is an independent, professional optometric Vision and Eye Health Center located in Laurel, MT. We provide Vision & Eye Health Exams (for all ages), in addition to Medical and Emergency Eye Care for Yellowstone, Stillwater, and Carbon County.

Our product lines include Ophthalmic Frames (Fashion Forward, Sporty, Everyday, Safety, and Sunglasses) for people of all ages. Our Ophthalmic Lenses and Lens Options use the newest technology to provide the clearest vision with the lightest, thinnest, and most durable lenses available to meet all your visual demands.

Our Contact Lenses products and services include bifocals, astigmatic, and hard-to-fit specialty forms in addition to contact lenses that fit the wearing schedules of just about anyone. For our patients who have vision needs other than glasses, we also provide Low Vision resources.

Our History

This practice was opened on August 15th, 1950, by Dr Harry McClain. Dr McClain retired in 1984 when the office was purchased by Dr Carl Ryan. Dr Benner purchased the practice and opened February 2nd, 1988. The practice has been in the same location since the early 60's. The office has seen several remodels over the years, but remains committed to providing quality and affordable care to Laurel and the surrounding communities.
